The bathroom was in desperate need to gain some extra space. With low ceilings and a poorly designed floor plan, Steve Way Builders, LLC took to the drawing board to make this bathroom more livable and practical. The first design step taken to gain more space in the bathroom was to remove the dropped bulkhead in the shower area. The original shower/tub space had a curved bulkhead which drastically reduced head space in the shower. Once removed, the ceiling in the shower followed the pitched ceiling of the roof line, gaining necessary headroom. The second change to gain additional space was to redesign the bathroom's overall floor plan. A main concern was to adjust the layout of the bathroom to replace the 12" deep vanity to a full depth, 21" vanity. The entrance door needed to be moved to provide room for the new vanity. The bathroom linen closet was removed and space was borrowed from the adjacent hallway closet to provide for the additional space needed to make this change. The completed bathroom remodel features many new additions. The remodeled vanity area features a 48" wide maple vanity by Schrock, which is accented by a matching framed mirror. The vanity is topped with a US Marble counter top. The recessed lavatory features a satin nickel fixture supplied by Delta. A Kohler high profile toilet is now installed in its new location next to the bathroom vanity. Walking across the new Mannington engineered hardwood floors will present you in front of the new Aker tub with US Marble custom cut shower walls. The shower features a Delta satin nickel faucet and hand shower unit, as well as a satin nickel Basco sliding shower door.
